Antigravity Quickstart Guide

Read This First

When you open Google Antigravity, you will see a dark screen with code lines. Do not panic. It is not broken. It just works differently than tools like Lovable or n8n.

The Mindset Shift

The Old Way (Visual)

You drag blocks around. You have to connect every single line yourself. You are the manual builder.

The Antigravity Way

You command the outcome. The "Agent" writes the Python code in the background to make it happen.

3 Things You Can Do (Right Now)

You don't need to build an app. Use it for your daily grunt work.

1. The Video Editor

FFMPEG

You have an intro, a main clip, and an outro. You hate opening Premiere Pro just to stitch them together.

                        "Combine intro.mp4, main.mp4, and outro.mp4 into a single video called final.mp4."
                    

2. The Document Merger

Python PDF

You have 20 messy Word docs that need to be one polished report for a client.

                        "Take all .docx files in this folder and merge them into one PDF with a table of contents based
                        on the file names."
                    

3. The Data Cleaner

Pandas

You have a massive CSV client list with bad formatting and duplicates.

                        "Check this CSV for duplicate emails in column C and standardize phone numbers in column D to
                        xxx-xxx-xxxx."
                    

How to Start (Without Breaking Anything)

Create a "Sandbox" Folder

Don't start with your life's work. Create a new folder on your desktop called Playground. Drop in some junk files (a few images, a text file, maybe a video) to practice with.

The "Hello World" of Ops

Open the Agent chat (the text box) and type this exact command to let it see your files:

                        "Look at the files in this directory. List them out and tell me what you think I might want to
                        do with them."
                    

Give the Command

Once it replies, pick one of its ideas or give your own command:

                        "Resize all these images to 800px wide and save them to a new folder called 'Resized'."
                    

Watch what happens. You will see it write code, run it, and actually create the folder on your computer.

Pro Tip: What if it errors?

Sometimes the Agent gets confused. If you see red text, just type:
"I got an error. Read the message, figure out what went wrong, and try a different approach."
